ABOUT

Multi-discipline musician Edgar Langley is currently studying classical guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, working towards achieving a Bachelor’s Degree under the BMus program. He also plays electric guitar and electric bass guitar, the latter of which he currently plays in 4-piece thrash metal band Inhumane and 5-piece experimental rock band Signifying Nothing. Edgar performs in a variety of musical styles across these 3 instruments, including classical, jazz, and various styles of rock and metal. Edgar also produces his own music at home, and is currently producing his own solo album of progressive metal and electronic music.

Edgar has been fascinated with music since he was very young. He enjoyed taking part in singing activities in primary school and always enjoyed taking part in school plays. At the age of 7, whilst he was in Year 2 at Westville House Primary School in Ilkley, he was presented with the opportunity to learn the classical guitar from the school’s guitar teacher, Peter Newsome. At age 10, he began attending the Sunday music school Yorkshire Young Musicians, located at Leeds College of Music, where he studied under Rory Russell and David Bainbridge. Edgar is now currently under the tutelage of world-renowned classical guitarist Craig Ogden. He plans to continue to expand his repertoire and begin to perform in more concerts as a soloist.

Edgar played bass in his primary school ensemble and then formed a rock band called Altum, one that lasted through secondary school. Edgar also played for 5 years in the band The Wiremen. In 2021 he was recruited to play bass for Inhumane, a band that has a worldwide management deal with EMG (Extreme Management Group). Most recently, in March 2022, he helped form the band Signifying Nothing. His future plans are to work extensively with his two bands and also begin regular session work.
